Tiny Tower® Thuja Care

View Full Planting & Care Instructions
plant sunlight

Sunlight Tiny Tower Thujas grow best in full sun (6-8 hours of direct sunlight per day), but they can withstand partial shade (afternoon sun is best in this case).

plant watering

Watering Water your new tree 1-2 times per week for the first month, then once a week. Water more frequently if it is dry and hot. Water your tree by placing a water hose at its base for 20 seconds. Tiny Tower Thujas will establish after 6 months and regular rainfall will provide sufficient watering.

plant fertilizing

Fertilizing Use a general evergreen and shrub fertilizer in the Spring to support the growth of your tree.

A space saving, upright growing evergreen

Tiny Tower Thujas are the perfect addition for any landscape with their variety of different uses. Their compact, upright growing foliage will grow together to make the perfect privacy screen. Instead of nosey neighbors seeing what you're up to they'll see an attractive solid green wall.

These Thujas are extremely easy to shape, making them the top choice for a hedge, or any other shape that's desired. Flowering trees and shrubs will pop against the beautiful deep green wall that Tiny Tower Thujas provide. Come fall, your tree will transform and give a beautiful bronze color before returning to green when the weather heats up again.

If your space is limited, this Thuja grows to a much smaller height than its parent plant, the Thuja Green Giant. Tiny Tower Thujas grow to be about 4 to 5 feet wide, and 18 to 20 feet tall, but can easily be pruned back.

Tiny Tower Thujas are the perfect evergreens for container trees. Plant them in a pot and use them to provide privacy on your deck, porch or patio. They'll give your home an elegant look if used to frame entryways.

If used as an accent tree planted around the corners of your foundation, or in your garden onlookers will be impressed by the deep green hue, and soft textured look of your Thuja's foliage.

Whether this tree is being used as an accent tree, or for a hedge their beauty provides landscapes with a unique look with year around color. They're selling out quick, so be sure to get yours today before they're gone.

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Your Tiny Tower Thujas grow best in full sun, but they can withstand partial shade (afternoon sun is best in this case). And for best results, plant these trees 3 feet apart to enjoy their pyramid shape or 2 feet apart for a dense hedge.

When planting, dig a hole that is just as deep as the root ball and twice as wide. If the top of the root ball is lower than the surrounding soil, remove the tree and fill in part of the hole. Replace the tree and fill in the hole with the same soil you removed. You do not need to add anything to the soil. Mulch around the tree with shredded hardwood mulch. A layer three inches thick, extending three feet, around the tree is ideal.

2. Watering: Water your new tree weekly or twice weekly by holding a hose around it and counting to 20.

After the first month, water just once a week unless it is dry and hot (no rain and temperatures above 80 degrees). If it is hot and dry, water twice a week.

After the first six months, the trees will be established and subsist on rainfall alone.

3. Pruning: The Tiny Tower Thuja grows well without pruning. In fact, this is one tree that needs no pruning, other than to remove dead branches. If you do decide to hedge this tree, make sure that when you trim, the bottom of the tree is wider than the top.

4. Fertilizing: Support growth by using an all-purpose evergreen tree and shrub fertilizer starting in the Spring.
