Tropical Grass for Year-Round, Bold Color

The Savannah Ruby Grass is a tropical, colorful plant that will spruce up any space! Its small size lends itself well to beds, borders, containers, or mass plantings. Plus, it can even be added to cut flower arrangements!

This perennial grass is a native of Southern Africa. It can be grown as an annual in cooler climates, but it’s particularly hardy in Zones 8-10. Anywhere you plant it, it's sure to add tropical flair!

Year-round, you can enjoy the vibrant, changing colors of this plant. Delicate, silver-green foliage is topped with picturesque pink plumes that turn to light cream, then tan. And the foliage itself changes to purple-red in the fall.

The Savannah Ruby Grass's flowers are long-lasting and face no serious problems with insects or disease, making it an easy-care option, requiring little upkeep. It's easy to see why gardeners of all levels love this effortless grass!

For long-lasting landscape color and texture, try out the Savannah Ruby Grass. Order yours today and watch it liven any area of your yard!

Note: If you purchase this grass in fall-winter, it may be cut back for the plant’s health. If your grass is cut back, don’t worry - it will grow even happier and healthier next spring!

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Plant in an area with full to partial sun (4-8 hours of sunlight per day). Select a location with well-drained soil and dig a hole that's large enough to accommodate your grass's root ball.

After you've planted, mulch the surrounding area and water to settle the roots.

2. Watering: Water weekly, or more often in extreme heat or drought. If you plant your grass in containers, you'll also want to water more frequently. Check the soil and water when soil is dry to the touch two inches down.

3. Pruning: Prune your grass all the way back in late winter or early spring to allow room and energy for new growth.
