Planting & Care
1. Planting: First, choose a full to partial sun location for your Red Sunset®. Any area with a maximum of 6 hours of direct sunlight, some afternoon shade, and well-drained soil is best.
Dig a hole deep enough to cover your tree's root ball. After placing your tree, tamp down the soil while backfilling to avoid air pockets in the area. Water your tree to settle the soil that surrounds the roots, and ensure it is planted several feet away from structures and power lines.
2. Watering: Simply water your Red Sunset® Maple during dry spells for the first few years. Generally, it will thrive on rainfall alone.
3. Pruning: When you’re ready to prune your tree, do so in late winter before its buds break. Prune away dead or damaged branches back to the nearest healthy bud at any time of year.

The 2 trees I purchased arrived securely in their box. A little travel damage, but overall, looked well and the soil full of nutrients. I love the color of the fall foliage and that it's a fast growing tree. That was my reason for selecting it. I think it and the yellow tulip tree will be stunning in my backyard.

Quality of packing for shipping and included info for care and planting was impressive! Best I have seen. Was concerned upon receiving the maple tree as it did not look healthy. But after reading your info insert, it appeared that the wilted and spotted leaves were to be expected, though it was not anticipated. We planted the tree immediately and, due to an unusually long Indian Summer, it is leafing out beautifully. Now we are impatiently waiting for you to get your hybrid willows in stock, hopefully before winter sets in :-)
