Fast-Growing, Fragrant and Drought-Tolerant Magnolia

Do you want an evergreen privacy screen that produces fragrant flowers in the summer? Then the Kay Parris Magnolia is the plant for you.

The Kay Parris Magnolia is a cross between the 'Little Gem' and 'Bracken's Brown Beauty' magnolia varieties. It's more compact than other magnolia trees, making it a great addition to smaller yards.

The glossy foliage of the Magnolia 'Kay Parris' hybrid is a deep emerald green. However, the underside of the leaves have a velvet texture to help the tree retain moisture, causing it to be more drought tolerant than other magnolias.

Blooming continuously from June through September, the Kay Parris Magnolia is a gorgeous addition to any landscape. Its bright white flowers are always filled with pollen, so bees and hummingbirds will begin visiting your yard more frequently in the warmer months. Plus, the flowers burst with sweet scent that will keep your space smelling fragrant for months

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Plant your Kay Parris Magnolia in a location that gets full sun (at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day). Plant in well draining soil with at least 10 feet of spacing on either side. Dig a hole approximately 3 times the width and just as deep as the root ball. Place the plant in the hole and backfill the dirt, but be careful not to compact the soil too much.

2. Watering: Water immediately after planting and continue to water frequently (2-3 times a week) until well established, approximately 6 months after placement.

Kay Parris Magnolia

This was my 2nd order from fastgrowingtrees and overall very pleased. The medium for this plant was dryish (opened the box immediately upon receiving) but it was in great condition. I watered it in it's shipping planter and left it overnight. Next day when planting it the medium just fell off the roots and so I essentially planted it bare root (having mixed organic fertilizer with mycorrhizae with the soil mix). That was 10 days ago and it's doing great.

Healthy Little Magnolia

We were very pleased to receive a healthy Kay Parris magnolia tree. It was shipped from Arizona to Florida in hot summer weather and still arrived in great shape. Its acclimating well to its new home.
