Thrives on Neglect and Drought

Why Drought-Tolerant Evergreen Trees?

One of the top benefits is right in the name: The Drought-Tolerant Evergreen Tree thrives on neglect, forming a thick privacy screen through an array of tough conditions. In fact, it's also adaptable to various soil types and is actually the most drought tolerant of any evergreen.

This hardy tree stands up to the extreme weather conditions that damage and even kill most evergreens. These trees are also referred to as the Arizona Cypress in arid, Southwestern regions. Basically, the Drought-Tolerant Evergreen is an extremely versatile tree that can be planted anywhere within its growing zones.

Why Fast-Growing-Trees.com is Better

In addition to its strength, its unique blue-green foliage lends gorgeous good looks. And it requires no upkeep to preserve its great shape, making it fantastic for use as a hedge, privacy screen, or property divider.

But the best part? We've nurtured our Drought-Tolerant Evergreen for these amazing benefits and more. Because we've grown, planted, and meticulously cared for each tree before shipping, you reap the rewards in your own landscape.

So, see what all the hype's about...and elevate your landscape, effortlessly, with our Drought-Tolerant Evergreen Tree today!

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Drought-Tolerant Evergreens prefer a location with full sun but can tolerate partial shade. Choose an area with soil that drains well, away from poorly-drained, soggy areas.

Prepare your soil before planting the Evergreen by adding organic materials including sphagnum peat moss, manure, and compost in a 1- to 3-inch layer over the planting area. Dig the hole as deep as and approximately twice the width of the root ball. Holding the tree, carefully place it into the hole and make sure that the roots are not curling upwards. Then, cover the hole with the removed soil mix, making sure the tree is upright, and cover the entire planting area with an organic mulch.

2. Watering: Once the roots are established, your Drought-Tolerant Evergreen should not need any supplemental watering. Be sure to inspect the tree and surrounding soil for extreme dryness during extended winter dry spells and water if necessary.

3. Fertilizing: Evergreen trees don't require much fertilizer. We recommend not fertilizing unless your evergreen begins losing its dark green color due to a lack of nutrients. If necessary, just a tablespoon of balanced fertilizer (labeled 12-12-12) sprinkled on top of the ground around the tree is sufficient.

Drought resistant trees

The small trees (2-3') I ordered were a little smaller than anticipated but I am looking forward to them to new growth soon. The large tree I ordered looks great. The small trees appear to be traditional Arizona Cypress while the tall tree appears to be a Carolina Sapphire based solely on color. That provides diversity in the yard and I look forward to seeing how this develops over the next several years. Very happy with my purchase so far. If you can afford bigger, go with bigger is my recommendation.

Healthy tree, but…

Very healthy, happy trees. Quite a bit smaller than was expecting. But they’re in the ground, and I have high hopes.

They look like they will be beautiful trees one they get use to their new home, thank you.

They look like very nice trees. When they arrived they were dry looking but have perked up and look good now. I finished planting both of them and I have great hopes for them.
