Trailing, Blue Blooming Lilac

Get the best of the best when it comes to lilacs for your landscape. The Creeping Mountain Lilac is a unique hybrid cultivated to bring the best of the California lilac varieties to gardeners.

The California lilac isn't a true lilac - it's actually part of the buckthorn family! However, like its namesake, the Creeping Mountain Lilac produces fragrant blooms and evergreen foliage without the hassle of constant maintenance. In early spring, blue blossom clusters will attract your favorite pollinators. These long flower cones are accompanied by emerald leaves that provide visual interest no matter the season.

The Creeping Mountain Lilac is adaptable in nearly all conditions. It can grow in clay soils, sun or partial shade, and can even be pruned to form different shapes. This lilac is also incredibly resistant to pests, wind, heat, and drought, so you can spend your time enjoying the plant rather than taking care of it.

You can plant your Creeping Mountain Lilac in your perennial, rock, butterfly, woodland, or cottage gardens as a groundcover. Or you prune and shape the plant to thrive in a tight space as a hedge or trail over the sides of a container

Regardless where you place it, the Creeping Mountain Lilac will provide fragrant blooms without any hassle. Don’t wait - order yours today!

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Plant your Creeping Mountain Lilac in a location that receives full sun. Dig a hole that is 2-3 times wider and the same depth as the container the plant was shipped in. Remove the plant from the shipping container, loosen the roots gently with your fingers, and then place it in the hole. Gently backfill the dirt and water immediately.

2. Watering: Continue to water the plant regularly until it is well established. Although your Creeping Mountain Lilac can survive long periods of drought, it is best if you water the plant periodically.
